In the 1990s, Fabio Cenni took over his family's winery, selected the best vines from the old vineyards, planted new ones, and discovered 28 clones of Sangiovese in one of the old vineyards. On 5 hectares, Sangiovese grapes grow here, carefully handpicked. The flagship wine, Poggio ai Chiari, ages for 36 months in large barrels, then in the bottle, and is only released for sale after seven years.
